Model-Driven Development is a methodology that creates and uses domain models to generate, build, and maintain software. Instead of writing every line by hand, you capture the logic in a model written in a domain-specific language, then transform that model into working code. It’s the same idea as a compiled language, which turns an abstract representation of logic into machine code. A model simply raises the abstraction one level higher. You may also know it as Model-Driven Engineering or Model-Driven Architecture. The promise is faster building, easier change, and more reliable software.
