Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

This practical course gives you a clear method for managing information throughout the product development life cycle, using the V-Model from Systems Engineering, to keep complex systems aligned.

You’ll gain the ability to communicate technical requirements to systems engineers, manage complexity, and bring together stakeholders, disciplines, and life cycle stages while handling the interfaces between them. The course is practical, not theoretical, and is based on a real infrastructure project; no previous experience is required. By the end of it, you’ll understand, from a business perspective, how models capture, manage, and exchange systems engineering information, and why this helps your projects run more effectively.

  • What you will learn

    In two workshops, backed by self-paced coursework, you acquire the skills needed to engineer complex systems using the V-Model, produce clear specifications, and model the information that flows between them. By the end of the course, you will be able to communicate technical requirements, manage complexity throughout the product development lifecycle, and ensure that stakeholders, different disciplines, and the various phases of the lifecycle stay aligned. Because the course is based on a real infrastructure project, its value stays practical.

  • Who this course is for

    The course is designed for systems engineers, information managers, and application managers who want a practical method for bringing order to complex systems and the information that flows through them.

  • What background you need

    There is no requirement for a background in Systems Engineering or information modeling, as such experience is useful but not essential. Regardless of your starting point, the course begins with the basics and progresses accordingly.

    The course can be attended online, at your own offices, or at an off-site location. It is offered in groups of three to twelve people, allowing time for discussion and practical work.
