Data Libraries
Data exchange requires reference data: descriptions of products and their properties to be handed over from suppliers to clients and vice versa. But with every different application an exchange agreement is needed. We help you implement successful data libraries.
Data is unintelligent when it lacks context or meaning
Data is unconnected, incoherent and bound to single databases
Data is difficult to exchange between applications and organizations
When an RDL is published as Linked Data, as part of the Semantic Web, you can connect your data to this library in order to add meaning and structure – regardless of database or application. This makes your data more intelligent by adding context via the RDL. With this approach it is possible to query across different databases without having to transform, translate or interface your data.
Linking libraries makes your data more meaningful, manageable and insightful across your entire application landscape. By linking to other RDLs, you can even query over data of others, adding further value to your own data.
Semmtech offers both tooling and consultancy regarding creation, maintenance, publication and management of reference data (ontologies).
Availability of assistance and tooling for modeling your RDL’s/OTL’s
Publish in Open Standards to communicate with contractors
Linking to other sources in your data ecosystem to map meaning
Semantic Modeling
How we add meaning in a way that is interpretable for both people and computers?
How do we make your data available and which methods and models do you need?
Master Data Management
How can you manage golden records and enterprise knowledge within and between organizations and their software systems?
Clients
One of our clients has created an enterprise dictionary for asset types and extended logical definitions with desired fields to be handed over by their contractors. We have helped set up the design and modeling of this so-called Object Type Library and the use of Linked Data to do so.
